At least 27.7bn/- has been set aside by the Dodoma Urban Water supply and Sewerage Authority (Duwasa) to improve water and sewage system in the University of Dodoma.
This was said by Duwasa Acting Managing Director David Pallangyo, when handing over different items including bedsheets to the Makole health centre in the country’s designated capital.
He said the project is intended to improve the availability of clean and safe water as well as sewage services at Udom.
“This project will be funded by the government through its Water Sector Development Programme (WSDP) whereby at least of 27.7bn/- will be spent.
Pallangyo said his firm and Sinohydro Company of China have already signed a contract to that effect.
“Up to now the contractor is proceeding with preparations at the site and we have already issued down payment to the Chinese firm and soon the work will be commencing,” he said.
He addded: “Duwasa has also handed over other items that include bedsheets to Dodoma Municipal Mayor Emmanuel Mwiliko so as to be distributed to different health facilities in the municipality.
Speaking at the event Mwiliko said the assistance has come at the right time and it will improve services in the centre.
He called upon other public and private institutions to emulate from Duwasa and help the centre so that it can provide better services to residents of the areas.
